Author Guidelines

Everything you need to know to prepare, format, and submit your manuscript to JIBDK. Please read these guidelines carefully before submission to ensure a smooth review process.

1. Overview

The Journal of Interdisciplinary Breakthrough & Discovery Knowledge (JIBDK) accepts original, unpublished research manuscripts from authors worldwide. All submissions must be written in English and must not be under consideration or published elsewhere. Simultaneous submission to other journals is strictly prohibited.

Prepare Manuscript

Format your manuscript per JIBDK guidelines. Ensure language is English and meets scope requirements.

Submit through the author portal. Upload manuscript, cover letter, and all required documents.

Editorial Review

Preliminary editorial assessment within ~29 days for scope, formatting, and plagiarism screening.

Peer Review

Double-blind review by minimum two independent subject-matter experts (~90 days).

Decision & Publication

Editorial decision communicated by email. Accepted articles published with DOI within ~25 days.

JIBDK accepts the following manuscript types. Please select the correct type during submission.

4. Required Documents

All of the following must be submitted with your manuscript:

Cover Letter

Addressed to the Editor-in-Chief. Include manuscript title, study importance, and originality confirmation.

Manuscript File

Blinded manuscript (remove all author names and affiliations). MS Word .doc/.docx format.

Title Page

Separate file with full title, running title, all author names, affiliations, and corresponding author details.

Figures and Tables

High-resolution figures (300 dpi, JPG/TIFF). Tables in editable Word format. Maximum 10 figures.

Ethical Approval

Ethics committee approval letter with reference number. Required for all human and animal studies.

Conflict of Interest Statement

Disclosure of any financial or personal relationships that could influence the work.

Funding Statement

All funding sources and grant numbers must be declared.

6. Title Page & Abstract
Title Page must include:
  • Full Title of the Manuscript
  • Running Title (short title, max 60 characters)
  • Author Names (full names, no abbreviations)
  • Institutional Affiliations (department, institution, city, country)
  • Corresponding Author: Full name, postal address, email
  • ORCID ID (strongly recommended for all authors)
  • Word count, figure count, and table count
  • Acknowledgements and Funding Statement
  • Conflict of Interest Statement
  • Author Contributions (CRediT taxonomy)
Structured Abstract (Original Articles)
Background
Brief context and rationale for the study.
Objectives
Specific aims and research questions addressed.
Methods
Study design, setting, participants, interventions, and outcomes.
Results
Key findings with relevant statistics.
Conclusion
Main conclusions and implications for practice or future research.
Word limit: 250 words Keywords: 3–6 keywords
Review Articles, Case Reports, Short Communications, Letters, and Editorials may use an unstructured abstract.
7. Manuscript Structure
Two files required: Submit a Title Page (with all author details) and a separate Blinded Manuscript (no author identifiers). This ensures fair double-blind peer review.

9. Figures & Tables
Figures
  • Minimum resolution: 300 DPI
  • Accepted formats: JPG / TIFF
  • Upload separately (not embedded in Word file)
  • Numbered consecutively: Fig. 1, Fig. 2…
  • Descriptive caption placed below each figure
  • All figures must be cited in the main text
  • Colour figures accepted at no extra charge
  • Legends for all symbols and abbreviations required
  • Maximum 10 figures per manuscript
Tables
  • Created in Microsoft Word (not as images)
  • Numbered consecutively: Table 1, Table 2…
  • Title placed above the table
  • Footnotes placed below the table
  • No vertical lines inside tables
  • All abbreviations defined in table footnotes
  • All tables must be cited in the main text
  • Do not duplicate data already shown in figures
10. Ethical Requirements
Ethical Approval

All studies involving humans must report the ethics committee or IRB approval name and reference number in the Methods section.

Patient Consent

Written informed consent must be obtained from all participants or legal guardians. Consent for publication of identifiable images or case reports is mandatory.

Conflict of Interest

All financial, personal, or professional relationships that could influence the work must be disclosed. State "None declared" if no conflicts exist.

Funding Statement

All funding sources, including grant reference numbers and funding agencies, must be listed in the Acknowledgements section.

Author Contributions

Each author's contribution must be specified using the CRediT taxonomy. All authors must meet ICMJE authorship criteria.

AI Usage Disclosure

Authors must disclose any use of AI writing tools (e.g., ChatGPT) in manuscript preparation. AI tools cannot be listed as authors.

Animal Studies

Research involving animals must follow ARRIVE guidelines and report IACUC or equivalent ethical approval.

11. Clinical Trial Registration

Clinical trials must be registered in a recognised registry before participant enrolment. The registration number must be included in the Methods section and the manuscript title page.

Plagiarism screening is mandatory for all submissions using Turnitin.

Open Access Policy

JIBDK is a fully open access journal. All published articles are immediately and permanently freely available to read, download, and share without any subscription barrier.

Copyright Policy

Authors retain copyright of their published work. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.

DOI Assignment

Each published article receives a permanent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) via CrossRef, providing a permanent citation link and ensuring long-term discoverability.

Digital Archiving

All published articles are archived in institutional repositories, digital archives, and indexing platforms to ensure long-term preservation and accessibility.

15. Article Processing Charges

Fees are applicable after acceptance only. No charges apply during submission or peer review.
Waiver: Waiver or reduction may be available for authors from low-income countries. Contact the editorial office before submission.
Fast Track: Fast Track review is available at an additional charge for time-sensitive research. Contact editor@jibdk.org for details.

A strong cover letter briefly explains the significance, originality, and relevance of your work to JIBDK, and confirms no duplicate submission.
